"Einstein’s Definition of Education: "is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school."
This refers to the experiences, values, lessons learned and education outside the classroom - This is where sport has a critical role to play.
Welcome to the St Stithians Boys' College Sport
"All that matters in life, matters in sport"- Sebastian Coe- 2012
Since the formation of St Stithians College in 1953, sport has always played a significant role in the development of every student that comes to the school. Sport provides developmental challenges like no other learning domain and contributes to a truly holistic development experience for students, staff, and parents. St Stithians seeks to provide opportunities to engage everyone through a diverse, challenging, multi-sport experience at all ages across all abilities. Whether an aspiring Olympian or for a social and recreational purpose, we recognize the significant mental and physical benefits that come with regular play and competition. Equally, we recognize the development of fundamental behaviours and values that emerge by participating and competing in sport, that help young people achieve excellence regardless of where their path may take them beyond St Stithians. With this, we welcome you to Saints Sport.
Boys' College Sports Director Message
Change is currently blowing through the sports environment at the Boys' College. This speaks to us becoming more effective and efficient at what we do. Key to this, is communication with the multiple stakeholders who are interested in and passionate about sport. To this end we would like to extend a warm welcome to the BC Sports Website.
We look forward to this communication platform and your feedback so we may constantly reflect and improve on what we do.
Sport is an integral part of most boys' scholastic experience. The intention through this platform is to enhance the sporting experience of students, parents and staff.
Sports Prefect 2026 Message
Dear One & All,
It is a great honour and privilege to introduce myself as the Head of Sport for St Stithians Boys' College for 2026. My name is Omphile Maphira, and I am truly humbled to take on this role within such a proud and storied institution.
Sport is one of the most powerful pillars of college life. It builds character, forges friendships, and creates memories that last a lifetime. Whether you have competed on our fields, cheered from the sidelines, or simply soaked in the atmosphere on a busy Saturday morning, you will know that sport at Saints is something truly special.
From the Hockey Astro to the Basketball courts, the Aquatic Centre to our magnificent playing fields, we are fortunate to have world-class facilities and a community that shows up with passion and energy. With 14 sports to choose from, there is a place for every student to belong.
My vision for 2026 is built on three pillars: pride, excellence, and inclusion. I want every student, regardless of the team they are in or the sport they play, to feel a deep sense of pride when they pull on that Saints badge. I want us to chase excellence not just on the scoreboard, but in how we carry ourselves, how we support one another, and how we represent this college. And I want sport at Saints to be for everyone. I encourage every brother in our college to step forward, get involved, and discover the joy that sport brings.
Together, let us make 2026 a year we look back on with pride.
Let’s go, Saints.
