We are so grateful for your heart to serve and make a difference in the life of our church family. To ensure a safe, supportive, and well-managed environment for everyone, both our volunteers and those we care for, we follow a clear 5-Step Safe Recruitment Process for all regulated roles:
1. Church Connection
We love getting to know you first! We ask that potential team members have been regularly attending Stirling Vineyard for at least 3 months before jumping into a regulated team role. For more information on how to 'count yourself in', please visit our website.
2. Informal Discussion
You will meet with the relevant Ministry Team Leader for an informal interview. This is an opportunity to discuss your background, explore suitable roles, and learn more about our serving guidelines.
3. Safeguarding & Documentation
Our Safeguarding Lead will guide you through the initial paperwork, which includes:
PVG Application: Completing the required details for your Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) application via Volunteer Scotland.
Identification: Checking proof of your personal ID documents.
Self-Declaration: Signing a form to confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to adhere to our Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
4. Reference Checks
Reference checks are an essential part of our safe recruitment guidelines:
Volunteers: A character reference from a non-family member.
Paid Staff: A factual reference from your most recent employer or volunteer manager.
5. Joining the Team
Once your PVG certificate and references have cleared, you will officially join the team!
Important Note: Membership in the PVG Scheme must be fully active before carrying out any regulated roles with children or protected adults. All team members are also expected to participate in ongoing Safeguarding Training and attend regular team catch-ups.
