You will be lining up on the parking lot. When the 7:35 bell rings, we will be down to bring up the homerooms. If you arrive between 7:35-7:45, you will still enter through the North Wing doors (if still open).
Our area to meet up is the burgundy dots. We do ask that you line up when it is time to enter the school.
If you arrive after 7:45, go to the front doors of school and wait for Mrs. Italiano to buzz you in. Check in at the office before going upstairs to your homeroom.
We are recommending that as middle schoolers you try to get to school between 7:25-7:45. This will allow students to be packed up and ready before homeroom and prayer begins. We want to start this procedure to help your students as they transition into older grades and high school since, if they didn't have their supplies ready by their first period, they might be considered tardy.
Yes, always a question. You will have a snack time in the morning. When that time is will be determined by the teachers and vary by the daily schedule. It will typically be between 9:20-9:40.
Since we have students that do have a nut allergies, you cannot bring any item that has nuts in them for snack time. We can easily avoid this by following the 6th-grade snack rule: You may bring fruit, a veggie, or dairy. You have to be able to open these items on your own and be responsible to clean up the mess after.
Some examples:
Fruits: apple, kiwi, orange, etc.
Veggies (yes, you can have a small container with ranch): Carrot sticks, sweet peppers, cucumbers, etc.
Dairy: Yogurt cup (don't forget a spoon!), Go-gurts, Cheese sticks, etc.
We will be using the cafeteria again this year. The students are not required to sit by homerooms as long as behavior can be maintained. Students will be allowed to mix within the 6th grade, but saving seats is not permitted.
Soda is not permitted in the rooms. That can make a sticky mess. Juice boxes, flavored water, etc is allowed. You will also have your water bottle.
Whatever you bring for lunch, you should be able to finish in 20 minutes, and you should be able to open it on your own.
We use the parking lot for recess. We will not have assigned spots but the entire parking lot can be used. Our recess is still approximately 20 minutes long. Recess is after lunch. The park could be used a various times in the school year but does require some planning on our part.
We will give you more information about recess once we are at school.
You will be dismissed out of the North Wing doors. A sixth-grade teacher will be taking you to the dismissal locations.
Walkers/Bike Riders: If you are a walker/bike rider, then you will be dismissed from the north wing doors. You will then leave out of the closest gate. Be sure to remember any siblings! We are all dismissed at 3:00.
Car Pick Up: If you are a car pick-up student, you will wait on the parking lot with our class until your ride is there for you. You will be dismissed to come out of school with the class, but go toward the alley.
If you go to aftercare, we will drop you off on our way out the door! You will be dismissed at the car rider line.
