Hi, welcome to Spanish! I'm so happy to be here and look forward to working with my students and meeting their families. Joining the SFdSCCS community is an honor, as I step into my first year of teaching.
As fate would have it, right after my marriage, I was blessed with the gift of motherhood. This led me to prioritize my role as a stay-at-home mom while temporarily setting my teaching ambitions aside. Now, with my sons embarking on their own educational journeys in Kindergarten at SFdSCCS, the timing feels perfect for me to begin my teaching career. The prospect of engaging with students across a wide age spectrum, from the youngest learners to those in 8th grade fills my days with the promise of diverse personalities and endless inspiration.
My journey to becoming a Spanish teacher is marked by diverse experiences that have shaped my approach to education. I proudly wear the badge of a former Division I athlete, having played tennis for Tulane University, while studying Spanish. My educational journey led me to earn a Master's degree in Secondary Education from WVU. My passion for Spanish started in high school, thanks to an inspiring teacher, and continued to flourish through college. My doubles partner from Colombia became a crucial asset in perfecting my Latin American dialect, while studying abroad in Chile enriched my understanding of cultures and traditions across South America.
Beyond the classroom, you will find me spending quality time with my family. We love to swim, play outside in the sunshine, practice tennis, and watch the occasional movie together on movie night. I like to stay active and love to ride my Peloton.
Let's have a great year together! ¡Hasta luego!
