Towards a Supportive English Learning Environment
At our secondary school, we offer a vibrant array of English activities designed to enhance students’ language skills and foster a love for the culture. Our programs include engaging book clubs, creative writing workshops, and dynamic public speaking teams, providing students with numerous opportunities to express themselves and develop their communication abilities. Additionally, we host annual spelling bees and drama appreciation events, encouraging students, including our English Ambassadors (EAs), to showcase their talents and build confidence. These activities not only support academic growth but also cultivate a supportive community where students can explore their interests and collaborate with peers through our target language, English.
November Updates
1. English Speaking Thursday - Halloween Party
Ghastly ghosts and gruesome goblins packed the school hall for the English Club x Science Club Halloween Party! Students were tricked and treated with terrifying games, horrifying costumes, posthumous prizes, and maniacal music during the always-popular event. The Science Club performed spooky experiments to teach and entertain, and students collected Halloween candy, took photos with friends, and earned stamps to improve their grades by chatting with their English teachers.

Flagstaff House Tea Ware Museum Trip
On a lovely afternoon in late November, a group of 30 students ventured off to the Flagstaff House Tea Ware Museum in Hong Kong Park. The former home of British civil servant George Arbuthnot has since been turned into a museum after the donation of over 600 pieces of priceless tea ware by Vitasoy founder Lo Kwee-Seong. (A fun fact: his sons went on to open rival Hong Kong fast food chains Café de Coral and Fairwood!) Visitors were treated to a personal tour, conducted in English, by one of the expert historians employed by the museum.
