Abstract
SES/ECE
Project Name
IDdeck
Description
Popular online services such as search engines and social networking sites often collect and sell customer data without the user’s informed consent. Privacy conscious users are thus discouraged from uploading any personal information to the web, which locks them out from a myriad of services and forces them to rely on physical media for data transactions. IDdeck is a platform whereby users securely upload their personal data and selectively grant outside entities access to particular fields. Users can easily grant and revoke access to their data at will, such that outside entities receive only the bare minimum amount of information. IDdeck also utilizes IPFS and the Ethereum blockchain to ensure that all data is secure and verifiable. IDdeck aims to foster trust between companies and their customers, allows users to trade information with ease, and empowers users to experience the internet without fear.
