Search area is shown as a polygon.
Search area includes total area (including buffer) to be searched.
If submitted as a .jpg, or .pdf, the visible base layer should be topographic, open street, or satellite imagery. The scale of the map should be such that landmarks, street names, feature labels, etc. are easily identifiable.

Search cannot be conducted using a plotted line or point.
Land surveyor plats are generally not accepted unless visible geographical labels (such as PLSS labels, or street names) are present on the map.
