Thank you for considering partnering with us! With your help, young adults with mild disabilities can fulfill their potential and lead more independent lives!
We have several long-standing employer partners with solid companies such as Lowes, Marshall’s, and Stop&Shop, and local partners such as PossAbilities Thrift Store and Frenchtown Dog Wash. We always need more. Specifically, we’re seeking two different kinds of opportunities:
“Job Sampling.” This allows our members to experience a specific work environment and tasks, working just a few hours a week as unpaid “volunteers.” This also serves as a training tool for StarThrower staff to evaluate and strengthen our members’ skills.
Job Shadowing: Observing a professional on the job to learn about the role to practice and expand job skills, as well as support the existing employees and business.
Part-time, paying jobs of no more than 15-20 hours per week. This can be customized employment where we fulfill a need or manage routine operations.
In each case, the StarThrower Group will provide a job coach to help the individual stay on task and learn the job, until that individual can work efficiently without support.
What’s in it For Employers?
Various tax credits, depending on your company’s circumstances
Reduced turnover. Neurodivergent individuals typically stay at a job longer.
Enhanced public image through demonstrated commitment to Social Responsibility. Studies show that 87% of Americans would prefer to buy from companies that employ people with disabilities.
The opportunity to have a significant social impact–jobs can and do change lives.
