10th GRADE PLANNING

Registration for Sophomore Year

In the 10th grade, students should take 6 Credits worth of classes. In planning for registration, there are 4 required credit areas for sophomores, leaving them with 2 elective areas to choose from. Sophomores should review their Graduation Requirements to ensure they are on track for graduation and for guidance in selecting courses. Please see below for 10th Grade course offerings in each area.

Students must select 1 credit in each of the following areas for their 10th Grade year.

English

Every 10th grade student must take one of these options:

English 10

Honors English 10

Mathematics

Based on Your 9th Grade Math Class:

Algebra 1

Geometry

Honors Geometry

Construction Geometry

Social Studies

Every 10th grade student must take one of these options:

World History

World Geography & Cultural Studies

AP European History

Science

Every 10th grade student must take one of these options:

Biology

Chemistry

Animal Biology 🟡

Plant Biology 🟡

Natural Resources Biology 🟡

Physics

Forensic Science

🟡Courses with this indication are eligible for FFA membership.

Select 2 credits from the following areas:

Students must select 2 credits from the options listed below as their first and second choice electives. They can be from any of the categories listed here. Students must also select 4 alternate courses, these would be used if the student is not able to get into their first or second choice.
