Lead: Public Relations
Jennie Wang is a senior at Mission San Jose High School, and serves as the Lead of Public Relations within the Network for K-12 Neurodiversity Education and Advocacy (NNEA) Core Committee at Stanford. She is very interested in exploring the intersection between neurodiversity advocacy and journalism, being the Lead Reporter of the official newsletter for Friends of Children with Special Needs, FCSN Voices. Focused on closing the social gap between neurodiverse and neurotypical individuals, she extends her neurodiversity advocacy work into organizations at her campus, such as her high school’s Key Club and newspaper. Aside from NNEA, she is passionate about exploring violin performance and photography as forms of storytelling and self-expression.

Vedhika Mohankumar is a sophomore at Irvine High School in Irvine, California. She is interested in promoting neurodiversity advocacy around the world and disproving stereotypes about neurodiverse individuals. She is the president of Irvine’s chapter of Peer1on1, an organization focused on promoting neurodiversity awareness and providing opportunities to neurodiverse children to socialize in fun ways. Vedhika has been involved with music for all of her life. She has played the piano and learned to sing for 7 years. She also is a competitive archer.

Annika Singh is a junior at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, California. She’s passionate about increasing inclusivity in education for neurodiverse individuals, and hopes to dismantle negative stereotypes surrounding neurodiversity as a part of NNEA. Annika is very interested in journalism, and serves as the Co-Opinion editor of her school newspaper. She wants to use her love for writing to promote the acceptance of cognitive diversity within her community. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, listening to music, and spending time with her friends and family.

Ben is a rising sophomore at Sage Hill High School, located in Newport, California. He currently resides in the city San Clemente. He did SNP Reach during the summer of 2021, and then joined NNEA Core Committee a year later in 2022. He wants to help dismantle the biases and contempt for neurodiversity in much of the contemporary world. Nobody should be excluded on the basis of their mental differences. Being different is what makes each person unique, whether neurotypical or not. All people should feel included in the various programs and institutions in our country. Ben enjoys competitive rowing, speech and debate, and studying the ancient world.

Rishi Upadhyay is a sophomore at Mira Loma High School in Sacramento, California. He is the founder of Bridged Learning, a free virtual neurodiverse tutoring website that has tutors effectively communicate and help neurodiverse students academically succeed by utilizing the strengths based model. Rishi is the founder and President of the Mira Loma High School Neurodiversity Club, which aims to spread awareness about neurodiversity and teach about Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD. He actively works in his school district to integrate strengths based learning curriculum into classes and programs to further help neurodiverse students be accommodated for, and serves as a member on the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council for San Juan Unified School District. Rishi is a proficient pianist who has played for over ten years. He often performs musical compositions for individuals in local retirement, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Rishi writes pieces and has served as an editor for the school newspaper, Mira Loma Today.
