Jehan is a student in the Science & Technology Program at Eleanor Roosevelt High School. Having a family member who is neurodivergent lit her deep and profound passion to advocate for neurodiversity as everyone, no matter their background deserves equality. Jehan’s ambitions and goals are set towards being in the medical field as it intrigues her greatly. She currently volunteers at Peer Tutors of Maryland where she tutor young neurodivergent children from grades 1 to 5 on mathematics and put great effort into teaching these young, neurodivergent children as it provides me with the skills needed to make an impact. Jehan also currently volunteers at a local hospital and attempts to make it at least once every week to help out as much as she can. Jehan also volunteers at a local library to help young, neurodivergent children learn English through the Language Studies program. She fluently knows 4 languages other than English, and she is trying to learn the 4th one by taking college leveled French courses. One of the many things she enjoys doing in my free time is taking photos as there is a certain peacefulness about photography and how you can capture the perfect moment. After high school, she plans on going to a top college to help me succeed in her career goal. Furthermore, Jehan is the first student within the history of her county to currently found the Prince Georges County (PGCPS) Neurodiversity & Mental Health Student Action Focus Work Group where she and numerous county board, delegates, county-wide students, etc all work together to spread awareness on neurdiversity. Jehan has had an interest in neurodiversity and knocking down the barriers of stigmatization that have been engraved within her society for as long as she can remember and thus she would like to have a career in the very thing she first loved. Finally, she is certain with her dedication and hard work and although she has not cured cancer yet; she represents a high school student who would like to shape her future.
