Uniform FAQs

• Is uniform compulsory at Stagecoach?

Yes - we have a simple uniform consisting of a T-shirt and jazz shoes. Students should also wear black leggings, jogging bottoms or shorts.

• Why do we need a uniform?

We believe that having a consistent uniform builds a sense of togetherness and identity. We also sometimes wear it to events - we believe that it's important for our students to look smart and unified.

• Why do the children have to wear jazz shoes?

Jazz shoes are really important as they help support childrens' feet during dance, allowing them to move freely with grip, but also a full range of movement. Trainers and other shoes can restrict the movement in the feet, often resulting in injuries such as sprains and strains. This is why we insist that students wear jazz shoes.

• Can we source our own jazz shoes?

Yes,  of course. Be wary of cheap options on Amazon however, as they tend to fit poorly and fall apart quickly! We source Bloch jazz shoes for our students, a reputable brand who specialise in quality dance wear. We also benefit from having a trade account, so we can usually get them cheaper than you'd be able to find them online.

• How do we order uniform?

You can also order online for home delivery from the Stagecoach Shop (clothing) and My Dance Store (jazz shoes). A delivery charge will apply for these services.

• How do we order the hoodies with the sparkly names on the back?

These are a special custom item. We put these orders in as soon as we have enough to make it viable, so we generally do two or three batches per term. Click here to purchase one - Patrick will update on the timescale when your order is confirmed.

• Can I pay for uniform using Tax-Free Childcare?

No, sorry. Tax-Free Childcare, Childcare Vouchers and the Childcare Grant can only be used for Stagecoach classes.
