New to Stagecoach? Here's some of our most frequently asked questions:
What do children do at Stagecoach?
We're a Performing Arts school for children and young people aged 4 - 19 years old. Our core skills are Singing, Dancing and Acting, and much of our programme is focused around Musical Theatre.
Early Stages (ages 4-6)
Our 90-minute Early Stages classes introduce children to the basics of the Performing Arts. Led by our Early Stages teacher and an assistant, children learn core skills in a fun, engaging way - exploring their imaginations and even putting on a mini-show once a year!
Main Stages & Further Stages (ages 6-19)
Main Stages & Further Stages classes, divided into age-appropriate groups, are 3 hours long. Students have 1 hour lessons in Singing, Dance and Drama/Acting with specialist teachers for each discipline. Our main focus is on creating a fun, supportive and inclusive environment where children grow in confidence, make new friends and build life skills. They go into depth on technique and performance, and put on a show once per year where they put together all the skills they've learnt at Stagecoach.
Performance Opportunities
As well as putting on a show once a year, we strive to find as many performance opportunities as possible for our students. Examples of events in the past include singing on stage with the Opera Boys at the Playhouse, and various local community events.
Performance Troupe
Students also have the opportunity to audition for our Performance Troupe. Our troupe regularly get the chance to showcase at theatres in London's West End and other regional theatres such as the Bristol Hippodrome, the New Theatre, Cardiff and The Theatre Royal, Bath.

Please see the fees page for more info.
Can I pay with Childcare Vouchers/Tax-Free Childcare?
Yes - we also accept the Childcare Grant. Pop us an e-mail if you have any questions about this.
Do you run during the School Holidays?
No, but we do run one-off Holiday Workshops. For example, we always run a Summer Workshop and we sometimes run ad-hoc Easter/Christmas workshops. Keep an eye on our website for details of our latest Holiday Workshops.
The teachers and assistants are the best people to ask. The priority at pick up time is to ensure that all students get home safely, but it you're able to hang on and speak to the teachers after dismissal, they will be all too happy to let you know how they got on. But - the best person to ask is the student themselves!
How to get better information from your child?
We're aware how difficult it can be for students to remember details of what they experienced - especially for the youngest students. Rather than asking "what did you do", try asking different questions like:
- Who did you make friends with?
- What made you laugh?
- What made you smile?
- Did you know anyone there from school?
- Was there anything you found hard/ easy?
- Are you happy?
We'd love to continue! What's next?
We're delighted that you'd like to join us at Stagecoach! The next step is to pay the remainder of the fees due (see below) and order your Stagecoach uniform here: https://stagecoachwsm.square.site/ Compulsory items are a Stagecoach t-shirt (yellow for Early Stages, black for Main Stages).
If you've decided that Stagecoach is not for you, let us know as soon as you can and we'll cancel your child's place.
