After being named in the Spears Top 100 Private Schools in the World for the fourth year running, we are very proud to be a world-class British School in Bahrain, educating children from over 70 different nationalities. Our roots here in beautiful Bahrain, our richly diverse community and our world-leading, award-winning education mean St Christopher’s School is the place to be!
We are fortunate to have World Class facilities in which to learn and play, and our strive for continuous development means that we are always looking at ways of improving the learning experience for the children, whether through research-based practice, implementation of innovative teaching methods or the enhancement of our physical resources.
Through the development and implementation of our Future Ready Curriculum, we have been recognised on a national level; using the system to enter staff plans for all subjects along with year groups and whole school events; we hosted a summit attended by 700 adults and children; and we partnered with schools across Bahrain to share best wellbeing practices.
The curriculum was developed with wellbeing in mind, re-imagining our curriculum with wellbeing as one of the essential elements. By using school leaders and their understanding of Positive Education, PERMA (Positive emotions, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishments), and Character Strengths, we were able to underpin our approach to wellbeing and mental health.
Our vision in the Infant School is to 'use our St Christopher’s play-based learning approach to build a solid foundation, enabling our students to become role models for the world'.
We believe our role is to instil in our children a deep love of learning and equip them with essential skills to be a life-long successful learner.
We teach children to be responsible for themselves, fostering independence, and to take responsibility on a wider scale, such as tackling environmental issues.
In the Infant School we have 4 Golden Rules which underpin our teaching and create an environment where children thrive whilst feeling safe, happy and loved.
Our behaviour policy is based around a positive approach to behaviour management. There are 4 Golden Rules in the Infant School - Be Safe, Be Kind, Be Respectful and Be Responsible.
We expect that all adults and children act in a safe, kind, respectful and responsible manner.
We reward children for demonstrating our Golden Rules by giving them a 'Praise Postcard'.
The children love to receive our postcards and they are a great talking point for at home, so that parents can reaffirm their child's actions with additional praise.
There is a card specifically for each Golden Rule and so our children love to create a collection of all four!
We even have special 'Praise Postcards' which children may receive from Mrs Dickinson, Mrs Dawson or Mr Holgate.
Our ‘6C’s’ are our 6 core St Christopher’s values which we foster in all of our students, which are curiosity, creativity, confidence, compassion, courage and commitment.
We have hexagonal stickers for each of these which our children love to collect.
These values are central to everything we teach and they ensure our students all become ‘Role Models for the World’.
Our holistic framework guides and engages the School community to advance the mission, vision and values of St Christopher′s School. It prepares our students to thrive in a dynamic and complex world by developing specific competencies across Academic, Metacognition, Service, Enterprise, Digital and Wellbeing domains through subject-based and experiential learning.
We offer your child the chance to be a ‘world-changer’ through our unique curriculum which is built on our School mission of ‘Education for a Shared Humanity’. Children who experience an international school education are perfectly placed to thrive in the world, being able to converse with people from all countries and cultures, creating relationships which will support them and connect them as they learn and grow. and become true Role Models of the World.
The full set of future-ready competencies can be found in our Future Ready Curriculum platform which maps our curriculum from Nursery to Year 9.
St Christopher’s School has a long-established House System to which all pupils from Nursery to Year 13 belong. The Houses are named after birds of prey which are native to the Gulf region and synonymous with Arab culture.
The Houses also have colours so that pupils are easily identified in events such as Sports Days and Swimming Galas. Our houses are Falcon (Red), Kestrel (Blue), Merlin (Green) and Osprey (Yellow).
Family members are placed in the same House as their siblings to ensure there is no family rivalry! Staff in the school are also placed in a House, ensuring that all Houses are well supported.
House Points are awarded for things such as effort, achievement and good behaviour. And when final points are read out, all Houses receive equal applause!
Our Infant School Council is made up of one boy and one girl from each Year 2 class, and is a forum for all pupils to have a voice. For this reason every child has their say in electing their representatives.
To encourage children to vote fairly, we ensure that the pupils understand why they are voting and what qualities are required in an effective representative. The Infant School Council work very hard to represent the views and opinions of the Infant children.
They meet regularly and undertake termly projects to help make the school better for everyone. Recent projects have included creating a map to help new children find their way around the school and a buddy badge programme so that everyone in the playground will have a friend.
Instrumental and Vocal tuition is available for all pupils from Years 1 and upwards.
Lessons are taught weekly on a one to one basis and are scheduled for 30 minutes on a weekly rotation, to minimise disruption to academic learning.
Please see this link for more information: Music Instrumental Handbook
At St Christopher’s we firmly believe in an all-round education where academic pursuits are supported by wonderful extra curricular opportunities.
Our wide-ranging programme of activities, societies and events allow pupils to find alternative avenues of interest to explore and enjoy. By involving the pupils in this rich programme we hope that their enjoyment of school life will be enhanced and personal skills will be developed.
It is not uncommon for pupils to develop a long-lasting interest and enthusiasm for their activities, continuing on to more advanced levels as they progress through and beyond the school.

If you are looking to expand your child's Physical Education (PE) and Extra Curricular Activity (ECA) experience, then SPARTA could be for you.
The Academy programme is an after school programme that goes beyond the classroom, offering additional training sessions from 14:25 to 19:00 on weekdays, plus sessions on Friday and Saturday mornings for those who want to take their skills to the next level.
We also have a hugely popular ‘Learn to Swim’ programme that begins with parent and toddler classes on the weekends. Children then progress through the various levels, culminating in our Sharks Swim Squad.
