Ensembles participating in performing arts festivals typically include various musical groups such as bands, orchestras, and choirs. These festivals aim to provide a platform for growth, mutual respect, and encouragement among music programs. They often feature non-competitive environments where ensembles can showcase their talents and receive constructive feedback from experienced evaluators
Performers should perform one piece in the following categories:
Primary - must be in full time Primary education.
Secondary - must be in full time Secondary education. Younger players may also perform at this level as part of an older ensemble.
For ensemble categories, the following categories shall apply:
Large Instrumental Ensembles: this category is for any ensemble which includes 6 or more instruments playing 2 or more parts. More than 1 player may perform on each part.
Small Instrumental Ensembles: this category is for any ensemble which includes 2-5 instruments playing 2 or more parts. More than 1 player may perform on each part.
Large Vocal Ensembles: this category is for any ensemble which includes 9 or more vocalists singing 2 or more parts. More than 1 singer may perform on each part.
Small Vocal Ensembles: this category is for any ensemble which includes 2-8 vocalists singing 2 or more parts. More than 1 singer may perform on each part.
Primary Choirs: this category is for any Primary Choir to perform and share their performance in a friendly, competitive class. Primary Choirs are permitted to sing in Unison.
Infant Choirs: (Non-competitive) this category is for any Infant Choir to share their performance in a non-competitive class. They will receive certificates for performing and feedback from the adjudicators.
Rock and Pop Ensemble - this category is for any age of Rock and Pop ensemble of 2 or more performers (Primary and Secondary).
