A third-culture kid, musician and educator, Faye’s musical journey has taken her across the globe, beginning with her education in Malaysia and the UAE. As a sixth-form student at Jumeirah College, Dubai, she once travelled to St Christopher’s School, Bahrain, to compete in the prestigious YMOG competition—both as a soloist and ensemble member. Little did she know that years later, after studying Music at Kingston University with a major in Composition and completing her PGCE in Secondary Music at Goldsmiths, she would return to St Christopher’s as Head of Senior School Music.
During her four years in Bahrain, Faye led a dynamic music department, working alongside a talented team of educators to inspire students in both performance and composition. Her international teaching career has since taken her to Dulwich College Singapore, Haileybury Astana in Kazakhstan, Oberoi International School in Mumbai, and now to the British International School in Riyadh, where she continues to shape the next generation of musicians.
Originally a flautist, Faye now thrives in practical, student-led music-making, jamming alongside her students on guitar, bass, drums, and keyboard. Passionate about ensemble music, she has conducted choirs, orchestras, and chamber groups, creating performance opportunities that celebrate collaboration and creativity. She is currently immersed in rehearsals for Matilda Jr: The Musical, embracing the joy and energy that school productions bring to young performers.
Returning to St Christopher’s as an adjudicator is a full-circle moment—one that reflects her deep-rooted love for music, education, and the transformative power of performance.
