The Sociedad Honoraria Hispanica wants to invite you to celebrate with us Hispanic Heritage Month with a Trivia Game. The first student who responds with all the correct answers will be the winner of a $10 chickfila gift card. Look for the poster with a qr code in our main campus library and M9 to participate. The winner will be announced every Friday during Hispanic Heritage Month.
The Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, October 12th from 8:00 – 11:00 pm in the cafeteria on the Main Campus. The dress is Semi-formal. Presale tickets will be sold online for $25 each beginning Monday, September 29th and will close at 12:00 pm (noon) on Friday, October 10th. Students will check in at the door with their Student ID. No actual ticket is needed. Tickets will also be sold at the door for $40 each to Marcus students only. (cash or check only). Students must show their student ID to purchase a ticket. If you plan to bring a guest from another school, you must fill out the form for prior approval. All information can be found on the Marcus website. Please see Mrs. Karbs in S121 with questions.

Do you think you are the best mathematician at Marcus? Come prove it in S125 on Thursday, September 18th. The UIL Math, Number Sense and Calculator Applications will be hosting an informational meeting on Thursday, September 18th at 3:45 in room S125. Competitors that make State in May have the opportunity to apply for scholarships their senior year. 80% of applicants receive at least $1,000 and a Marcus grad even won $20,000. If you want to prove you are one of the best mathematicians in the state and open your mind to new ways of thinking, come see Mr. Pike in S125 on September 18th after school. If you can't make it to an informational meeting, e-mail or go see Mr. Pike in S125 anytime before or after school.

To register, you need to be at least 17 years and 10 months, an American citizen, and you will need to bring your driver's license OR know the last 4 digits of your social security number.

The first official meeting for Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica (SHH) members will be held on Monday, September 8th in room W225. You may attend either before school at 7:50 a.m. or after school at 3:40 p.m. Attendance is required, as we will be covering important information about our upcoming fall events and activities.
MEDS and HOSA are excited to welcome Dr. Pace, an oral surgeon, as our guest speaker on Monday, September 8th, after school in D110, the Think Tank.
He’ll be sharing some of his most fascinating real-life cases and offering insight into the world of oral surgery. All are welcome! Don’t miss this chance to learn from a practicing surgeon and ask your questions.

The PSAT/NMSQT exam allows college-bound juniors to compete for National Merit Scholarships. If you are a junior and are interested in taking this exam, on Oct. 22nd, please look under Campus News on the MHS website for the registration link and exam information. The exam fee is $15 and registration closes on Sept. 5th at 3:35 pm.

The SAT School Day will be given here at MHS on Oct. 21st during 1st & 2nd period. Seniors that are interested must register before 3:35 pm Sept. 5th. Look under Campus News on the MHS website for more information and the registration link.

Representatives from Oklahoma State University will be visiting Marcus High School on Thursday, September 4th. They will host an informational session during the end of 2nd period and Marauder Time, followed by a Q&A session during all lunch periods.
All grade levels are welcome to attend the informational session.
