Family Counseling: Appointment times are 5:30 to 6:20 pm on consecutive Tuesdays
Family counseling offers all members of the family an opportunity to share their honest perspectives and discuss solutions in a caring manner. Each family may meet for up to six sessions with a solution-focused approach.
Parenting Resource Groups: Tuesdays, 6:30 to 7:20 pm
Children with special needs can require extra management skills. The LISD Special Education Family Center offers research-based parenting resource groups to provide support to parents of children with special needs.
Youth Skills Groups: Tuesdays, 6:30 to 7:20 pm
While parents attend Parent Resource Groups, children are offered skills-based groups of their own. The groups support topics presented to parents and will be interspersed with fun activities. Students will be placed in groups by age and/or developmental level. Siblings are welcome.

Families with a child qualifying for LISD Special Education services may self-refer (www.lisd.net/Page/21786) or be referred to the LISD Special Education Family Center by any member of the student’s ARD Committee.
The Family Center follows the LISD calendar. Services offered may be limited due to available space.

Families Of Children with
Autism Spectrum Disorder United and Supported
2024-2025 School Year
What: The Lewisville ISD Special Education Department presents a series of evening events dedicated to assisting families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) free of charge. Please visit https://tinyurl.com/32zet6at for more detailed information.
Who: LISD families with children who receive support for autism. Programs include Autism Presentation Series for parents, Game Night/Social Skills Group for students with autism, and Sibling Group (Grade K-5). Groups are led by Psychology Interns under the supervision of a Licensed Psychologist. Although children are not allowed to attend the adult presentations, childcare services are offered free of charge for younger children.
Where: Special Education Center (connected to Central Elementary School) at 400A High School Dr, Lewisville , Door A20 off of High School Drive
When: Thursdays 6:00 p.m . to 7:30 p.m. Arrive by 5:55 for children to transition to their groups.
