Project CODEC for 2nd Year BTech students has been initiated by Professor Vijay V. Mandke, Dr.Kumar Nitesh, Dr. Anand Kumar Mishra, Professor Vivek Kumar Anand, and Professor Supratik Banerjee!

CODEC involves a collaborative effort across various disciplines and faculty, including Computer Architecture & Organization (10 marks), Operating Systems (10 marks), Database Management Systems (10 marks), Educational Technology (20 marks), and Cyber Security (15 marks).

Students work on a project carried forward from the previous semester which integrated Object-Oriented Programming with Communication Systems through the use of the Wi-Fi module in their hardware prototype. This allowed students to apply their course concepts to a real-world project, building on the foundational knowledge and skills they developed in the first year.

In the CODEC project, students now implement a DBMS to handle the data better and connect it to the  UI/UX created in the earlier semester. They also verify the working of their application in a different Operating System and get an idea of App development. While constructing their application, they also relate it to Computer Architecture and Organization in the form of better memory management while building security features through Cryptography into their solution.   

The CODEC project spans 6 to 8 weeks and includes mid-project reports and a final presentation to a panel of Professors.
