Year 5
During this term in citizenship and English, students have been studying equality and its impact on modern society. The students have been participating in formal discussions about specific topics and learning about debate through discussion. pupils in year five engaged in a fantastic debate with St. Joachim's Catholic Primary School, where they exchanged views on equality.
We had a very informative workshop about knife crime and how we can keep ourselves safe.
In Religion, we have been reading lots of scripture from the bible. We roleplayed the story of The Good Samaritan with a modern day twist.
In science, students have been learning about gravitational pull, or how objects are drawn to the surface of the Earth by gravity. By doing an experiment with toilet rolls, pins, and paper clips to investigate pull resistance, the students investigated this idea.
During the Citizenship Weeks, we went to St Anne's Church to the Charity Fair. We had the opportunity to meet representatives from a range of charities. We found out about the charity, what they do and how we can get involved too.
