Nursery
This term we have been learning about people who help us. Children started off their new topic by learning about builders. In class, pupils used a variety of materials to build houses, castles and bridges. They worked in teams to help each other and shared the tools. We then set out on a trip to see the builders who were working on a local construction site. The children were very excited !
We then learnt about other people who help us, such as police and postmen. Children wrote letters to their families to say thank you for all the help they get at home. Then we went on a trip to the post office ! We walked to the post office in small groups and bought some stamps and snacks with our ‘money’. Then came the best part, we posted our letters in the red post box! Our families are looking forward to receiving our letters!
Children have also explored shopkeepers in the supermarket role play area. They had a go at choosing foods, paying and packing the food into bags.
We also learnt about doctors and dentists! We learnt about foods that keep you healthy and brushed teeth during messy play! Children had a lot of fun playing the game ‘Operation’.

Ideas range from a Grandfather clock pendulum, indoor swimming pool, robots, glasses, a bike, a handbag and a house.
Watch out Britain's got Talent! Our second dance lesson this term with Mr Downer.
Look at how focused and in time we are. Watch this space for the finished product.
We are now writing words and sentences independently using our phonics skills and knowledge of the harder to read and spell words that we practice everyday.
