In Year 1, we have been learning about programs for computing. We practised making a route using a programmable robot ‘Kubo’. Last term we learnt about algorithms, which are instructions that need to be followed for success. This term we can use algorithms to make a program for the robot to follow.

Year 1 have been developing an understanding of the numbers to 20. We all know how to count to 20 but now we know how to make 11,12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19. We know it is a ten and can add the correct amount of 1’s.This improves our fluency as we don’t have to count from one each time.

In Year 2 we have have been studying the Great Fire of London during our History lessons. The children have been using their knowledge of the Great Fire to sequence the events using a timeline. We also did a role play to reenact the events of the great fire of London including key people like Samuel Pepys, Thomas Farriner and King Charles II.
