Dear Parents and Carers,

We have come to the end of the school year and looking back we have so much to be proud of and grateful for. We have had a year full of events and visits, and the children have all made huge progress in their own personal goals and targets. We have enjoyed some fabulous events throughout the year that the children have embraced and parents have supported. In the Autumn Term, Ofsted came to inspect us and graded us as Outstanding in all areas. We have so much to be proud of and we look forward to building on these successes next year.

We sadly say goodbye to some members of staff at the end of the Summer; Mrs West, Mr Myers, Mr Holt, Mrs Logan and Mrs Omo-Osagie will all be leaving us to pursue new adventures and careers. We thank them all for their years of dedication and hard work at St Helen's and wish them well for the future.

Mrs West will be leaving us at the end of August after 20 years at St Helen’s. She has been at the heart of our school community, helping so many pupils, parents and staff. She has always done so much behind the scenes extra helping many families with personal issues. She has been a great asset to St Helen's and played a major role on our Senior Leadership Team. She has given her time to so many in many ways. She is very discreet and she has touched so many, who are eternally grateful. We wish her well as she enjoys a well earned rest and some time for herself.

Mr Myers will be taking up a head of school role in September back in his home town in Devon, in his childhood school. I know he will thoroughly enjoy this role and especially serving in his old school. I still am always honoured that I am able to do this at St Helen's. He has been with us for 12 years, starting out as a TA, teacher training with LETTA and then moving onto SLT. We wish him well for his new chapter.

Mrs Logan will be leaving us at the end of August as she embarks on a new career for Tower Hamlets after 12 years with us. Sue has been an amazing member of staff for all of the years she has been with us making such a huge impact in the Early Years supporting so many children. She is such a kind and calm person who give all of her love to all of the children. We will miss her dearly, and we wish her all the best for the future.

Mr Holt will be taking up a new role as a civil servant in September after 4 years with us. After many years of working with children in both ministry and teaching, he has decided to take a new route. Mr Holt has been a real asset to us especially in EYFS and given so much to the pupils and children he has taught over the years. We wish him lots of luck for his new career.

Mrs Omo-Osagie joined us 4 years ago and brought her drive and enthusiasm to become a teacher. She successfully completed her teacher training with LETTA this year and will be taking up a teaching job at St Michael's in September. We know she will enjoy her new role and will continue to thrive as a teacher.

We will be welcoming two new teachers to our team, Mrs Man and Miss Owusu and a new Office Manager, Mrs Facto.

For those families who are leaving us, we all wish you the best for the future. Please do keep in touch!

We wish all of our wonderful year 6 pupils the best of luck, as they begin their new journeys at secondary school. Click here to read their memories of their time at St Helen's.

Wishing you all a lovely summer break. Stay safe and well.

God Bless

Miss Doherty xx
