At St Helen’s maths is an enjoyable and creative subject. We aim for the children to achieve mastery in mathematics by having a secure understanding of mathematical concepts and processes, combined with procedural fluency.

The curriculum gives children opportunities to deepen their understanding, apply maths to real life and make cross-curricular links, where possible it supports the Catholic ethos of the school.

Leaders support staff to deliver the curriculum by ensuring classrooms are well-resourced and by keeping staff up to date with maths pedagogy and subject knowledge.
