Rehearsing for our production will require an after school time commitment. Beginning August 22nd, we will rehearse after school 3 days a week (excluding most Wednesdays and Fridays) from 3:15-5:00pm. All actors are at all rehearsals unless otherwise noted. We have a very short time frame to prepare for our November show dates. The rehearsal schedule is viewable in the “Rehearsal Schedule” link. It is the responsibility of the student to carefully check the rehearsal schedule and to be present at rehearsals.
While occasional absences from scheduled rehearsals are unavoidable, please try to schedule appointments and activities outside of rehearsal time. Putting on a play is a collaborative group process, and an actor’s absence affects everyone involved.
Students are asked to confer with parents and write down all known conflicts on their audition sheet. If any other conflicts arise, please notify the directors. While the occasional rehearsal absence can be worked around, multiple conflicts with the rehearsal schedule will impact casting decisions.
If conflicts arise after the audition form has been submitted, actors or parents can notify the director via email a few days in advance to clear the absence. Students will be responsible for learning what was missed on their own time. Due to the limited time frame to prepare our play, if students miss multiple rehearsals, parts may be cut or recast as needed.
Absences due to illness or family emergency will be excused. Please notify the directors through email. Students are expected to learn missed material on their own time. Unexcused absences are absences that are not resulting from illness, medical emergency and have not been cleared with the directors in advance.
When a student misses a rehearsal and the conflict has not been listed on the audition form, cleared with the director in advance, or is not due to illness or family emergency, it is an unexcused rehearsal absence. After one unexcused rehearsal absence, parents will be contacted. Two or more unexcused rehearsal absences, may result in roles being understudied, cut or recast.
