The 4 STEPS for Trusted Adults:
Listen - Respond - Follow-Up - Reassure
The definition of a “Trusted Adult” is someone who students view as a reliable and caring source of support. Moreover, they listen and respond appropriately to expressed concerns, warning signs, and threats of someone who may be at risk of harming themselves or others. They also know where to go and how to get youth to services and support - such as your wellness center, counseling team, and psychologists.
