Google Drive is a space on the internet that belongs to you. You can keep all sorts of different files safe and organized there. You may also use it to share and collaborate.
Use the email address ending in @spsdme.org to log into Drive and all other Google for Education Apps. Let your teacher know if you have forgotten your email or your password.

Anything you would not be happy to lose!
There is a folder called "Classroom" in your Google Drive. The Classroom folder is created automatically by Google Classroom and should never be changed or deleted. If you are missing something you have worked on, the Google Classroom folder may be where you can find it and make a copy!
In Google Drive, as well as many other apps on your iPad, there will be lots of options and tools hiding under the menu button and the breadcrumbs. Whenever you feel stuck trying to do anything in Google Drive, tap these icons to see a list of options!
Tap the + Sign to add anything to Google Drive. Here is where you can:
Create a folder
Upload a photo from the photo app
Take a photo of a paper assignment
Start a new Google Doc or Slide Show
There are a few essential things that every students should know how to do in Google Drive. Take some time to get familiar with these skills. Tap the Menu and Breadcrumbs icons and practice these tasks:
Move a file or folder - Drag it with your finger or use the breadcrumbs
Rename a file or a folder - use breadcrumbs menu
Add Color to folder - use breadcrumbs menu next to folder
Share a file or folder use breadcrumbs menu
Copy - use breadcrumbs menu
Use the Folders!
Keeping files organized inside of folders will keep your workspace in Google Drive clean and reduce clutter. It is like keeping papers in a notebook instead of leaving them all over your desk.
Give your files useful names
Make sure that your files have a name that makes sense. Every file should have a name that describes what is inside.
A file name that makes sense is "Writing Journal" or "Digestive System Project".
Files named "New Document" or "IMG05732" are problematic because over time, you will not remember what it is and important information may be lost.
Use the Star ⭐️
Adding a star to a file will make it easy to find. The star is very useful for documents that are needed every day.
Tap the breadcrumbs next to the file
Tap Star
To view all starred documents, tap the Menu button and then tap ⭐️ Starred
Turn in large files, like videos
Upload your video to Google Drive.
se the breadcrumbs menu to copy link.
Go to Google Classroom assignment and Add Attachment.
Tap link option
Hold finger down and select paste to paste the link into the assignment.
