Follow the steps below to set up a clean learning space where you will be able to find what you need when you need it.
Every student has a Google Apps for Education account for accessing all Google Apps and many others. Students log in with their email addresses which end in @spsdme.org. Most students know their email and password. Sixth graders will receive login assistance from their classroom teachers at the beginning of the school year. See the Technology FAQ page for information if you do not know your email address or password.
Removing courses that are no longer being used will make a nice, clean space on the home screen for the current year's work.
To remove a class, Go to the Google Classroom home screen, tap the breadcrumbs on the top right of the class and then tap the "Unenroll" button.
Each teacher will provide a "join code" for the Google Classroom. These code are needed to join your new classrooms.
Tap on the + sign on the bottom right of Google Classroom home screen and then enter the code to join.
The join code will be posted on the teacher website should a student need to re-enroll for any reason.
Notifications must be turned on so that you will be alerted when something needs your attention. You will need to know when:
New work has been posted to the Google Classroom
Teacher has posted a comment, announcement, or question
Teacher has requested that you revise part of your work
Feedback or a grade has been posted to your assignment

The Google Calendar for each class will show all of your due dates, which will help you to know what meetings and assignments are coming up. Make sure that all of your classroom calendars are showing by following the instructions below:
Tap open the Google Calendar App on the iPad or navigate to calendar.google.com.
Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner
Tap "show more" at the bottom of the calendar list on the left side of the screen.
Tap the box next to each classroom to add or remove a check mark. Make sure that all current classes have a check mark in the box.

Tap the box to select or de-select calendars. Calendars with a check mark will show up on your calendar and those without a check will be hidden.
