There are many ways to view your assignments. Normally, you will receive a notification from Google Classroom that you have an assignment, which will prompt you to go to the Classwork tab to find it. However, there may be times when it is useful to view your assignments in a different way, as a list, or by their status (not done, done, late, etc.). That is why it is important to familiarize yourself with these very useful Google Classroom tools.
Whenever a new assignment, comment, or announcement is posted in the Google Classroom, you will receive both an email notification and a pop up notification on the iPad. Read the message because it will tell you which class has new material and what to look for.
If notifications are not happening, please refer to the Google Classroom Setup page to review your settings.
When Google Classroom opens, the first thing you will see is the Stream.
On the Stream you will find announcements and discussion topics the teacher may have posted.
Assignments will NOT be posted on the Stream. It will be posted in the Classwork area.
Always check the Stream before moving on to the Classwork tab.
To switch between the Stream and the Classwork area, tap the link at the very bottom of the screen
Tap the Classwork tab to find your assignment and all related materials.
All assignments will be organized by topic in the Classwork Tab.
Use the Classwork tab to turn in assignments.
The To-do list shows assignments for every class, even if they do not have a due date.
To view the list tap the Menu button in the top left of the Google Classroom app. Then Tap To-do.
At the top of the screen there are two links: TO-DO and DONE.
Tap TO-DO to see all work that is missing, has no due date, or is not yet due.
Tap DONE to see what work you have already been completed.
Make sure to tap MORE under each section to see the entire list.
