Canvas is where you can access resources like the Parent Prep Course, my Homeroom Course, Learning Center Info, the ELA Writing Prompts and Performance Tasks, and many more depending on the grade and involvement of your student.
Parents and students have their own individual My Springs accounts with different usernames and passwords which can be found on your General Info Sheet
New students must first add the Single Sign On to their Chromebooks. From My Springs (link), you can click the Canvas tile which looks like this:
Parents use the same website for Canvas that students and teachers use: https://springscs.instructure.com
You will find the Canvas tile in your parent My Springs dashboard if you have already done the Single Sign-On.
For Single Sign-On:
Parents can log in with their Parent ID as their username. This is typically “p + 6 digits,” for example: p123456. This information is found in Oasis.
Parents can also log in with an email address instead of a username. This must be the same email address that was given to students records (also found on the parent Oasis profile).
Parents all share the same default password, “rscsgogo” - parents will be prompted to change the default password to something unique on their first login attempt.
Here are some resources to help you get started in Canvas:
Springs Single Sign On - Information about student and parent usernames and passwords, how to reset, and who to call for help.
Canvas Parent Q & A - What Parents can see and do in Canvas. Written AND Video instructions!
Canvas Mobile Guide - How to get started with the Canvas Mobile apps for Students and Parents
Presenter: Isaac Piercy
Canvas is the primary Learning Management System for Springs for most grade levels and programs. This session will show you exactly how students access content and assignments through Canvas, how work is submitted, and how to keep track of your student's progress. We will also cover using the Canvas Mobile apps for students and parents.
