Springfield Summer Carnival - Friday 16H00 – 22h00

Dear parents, guardians and members of the Springfield community. Don’t miss out on what is lining up to be a spectacular event!

• Events and activities
  • kiddies rides and inflatable “rides” like rocket launcher, gladiator jousting, climbing wall, mechanical bull etc.
  • Fun games
  • 3 x magic shows (tickets almost sold out)
  • Disco (grade 6 and 7 only) in St Catherine’s Hall (limited number of tickets still available)
  • A fantastic line-up of musicians from Springfield, Wynberg Boys, Bishops and the School of Rock performing live on stage
  • Book stall, toy stall, lumo stall and lots of other retailers selling clothes, bags, jewellery etc.

• Food and beverage
  • “Candy land” selling a selection of sweets, candy floss, slushies, hot dogs etc.
  • Boerie rolls, prego rolls, shawarmas, burgers, vegetarian and vegan dishes
  • Craft beer, craft gin, wine and sodas
  • Cake and dessert stall
  • 2 x coffee trucks

• Parking, safety and security
  • Catch a ride to the school or drive and park in the junior school car park, on the sports fields (access via the junior school car park), at St John’s Church or at the military base.
  • Security guards will supervise the entrance/exit to the school, the parking lots, the entrance to the beer tent and will patrol the fields and walkway to St Catherine’s Hall.
  • 6 medics, 2 ambulances and a disaster management trailer.
  • The astro has been designated as a “no go zone” to be used only in the event of an emergency.
  • While the school has taken reasonable care to avoid harm, parents and guardians remain responsible for their children while attending the Summer Carnival and while participating in any events or activities.
  • Contingency measures are in place in the event of load shedding.

• Tickets and payment

As far as possible the Summer Carnival will be “cash-less” with limited cash payment options at selected retailers, coffee trucks and the bar. General tickets, disco tickets, magician tickets, all-access ride bands and a commemorative mug are on sale on linehttps://springfieldpta.com/, in the car park under the gazebo and at the ticket desk at the Carnival on Friday.
