A group of past pupils arranged a Vintage Clothes Sale on Saturday, 25 January in the Music Annex to raise funds for certain NGOs that are currently struggling financially. The four charities towards which the funds will go are Dassenberg Rescue Centre, The Hout Bay Music Project, The Underdog Project and Marian High School. There were also coffee, cake and toy stands to aid in the fundraising. The leftover cakes were sold Monday (27 Jan) during first and second break and an additional R662 were made from these for the charities! Thanks so much to all who offered up their time to help with the setting up on Friday or the event on Saturday. Also for those who donated clothing to be sold.
HELP
Starting 3 Feb HELP is a homework program that provides educational support for disadvantaged youth. The aims are to develop learners’ ability and confidence in both reading and numeracy and to encourage children to enjoy the process of learning. After arriving at HELP, tutoring is given to Grade 1 – 7 pupils (usually one-on-one) to help them with Mathematics and English or other homework.
