THE PINK SLIP
Should your daughter be ill and unable to attend school, please use the absentee facility on the d6 + or telephone the Secretaries’ office before 09:00 and upon her return to school send a note via the office. Should your daughter have an unavoidable appointment during school hours, kindly send a signed note to the office at the beginning of the day, also for their attention. Parents are requested to collect the girls from the school office on such occasions and a Permission Slip should be obtained from the Secretaries and handed to the Security Guard on duty on your way out. No girl may leave the premises during school hours without this permission/security slip.

Springfield's Blood Donation Clinic
Springfield achieved an excellent turnout at our last Blood Donation Clinic: 64 donors arrived, 24 were deferred and 40 full pints were collected. 10 new donors also signed up. Thank you to everyone who arrived and gave so generously. We have exceeded all of our previous records, donating 157 pints this year and saving 471 lives! Springfield turns 150 next year - let's celebrate by donating at least 150 pints and saving at least 450 lives!
Group O is known as the Universal Donor, as this blood group can be transfused to all other groups. You can find out what your blood type is when you donate blood. The closest Western Cape Blood Service clinic is:

The Grade 9s had a wonderful outing on Wednesday 30 October when they hiked up and explored Table Mountain. The group managed the hike up easily, which allowed time to walk to the various dams and to take in the views and enjoy a picnic. The staff and girls had a lovely day out and it is always good to be reminded of what a beautiful city we have the privilege of living in.
Heritage Day Tiles
Our connect groups are putting the final touches to their Heritage Day Tiles and they are looking amazing! Each connect group was tasked with decorating a tile using a given letter of the alphabet and connecting this what heritage means to their group. The tiles are currently in the library and will be used to decorate a section of the school in the future. Well done to all the connect groups for working together on this project!
