Clay County General Relief offers emergency rent, utility or burial assistance to residents of Clay County. To qualify, a person must be a resident of Clay County, be at least 18 years of age, and meet current income and resource guidelines.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9 AM until noon

Provides affordable housing to those who qualify.

Northwest Iowa Regional Housing Authority provides section 8 rental assistance in Clay and surrounding counties. Low-income families pay a portion of their rent and NWIRHA pays the difference up to the payment standard for that county. Assistance stays with the family in any unit they choose as long as the landlord is willing to work with them.

Rent and deposit assistance available to those who qualify.

Clothing vouchers, coats, snow pants, hats and gloves available by appointment. 

Baby items and diapers available by appointment.

We have locations from Mason City, IA, to Rapid City, SD and currently operate 22 retail stores and donation centers, two online stores and an Outlet Center. We also operate mission programming through various services, programs and special events throughout our territory. Goodwill of the Great Plains builds independence through employment, training, and community support.

We are a faith based non-profit organization whose profits go back to the local community via pre-established flood relief organizations. Once the community is back on their feet, we will distribute a portion of profits to other communities in the Midwest affected by natural disasters.
