Spencer School District's food pantry is housed at the middle school. It is available for families with students enrolled in the Spencer District during the current school year. 

Students can access the pantry as needed by contacting their school counselor. 

Families can visit the pantry by contacting Angie Ward or Adam Gress at the middle school for information on open dates and hours. 

The Spencer Community Schools Food Pantry is supported by community individuals, clubs, and businesses and by the Food Bank of Iowa.

The Women, Infant and Children Supplemental Food Program (WIC) is designed to promote healthy food habits to low-income pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding and non-breastfeeding women and infants and children birth to five years of age.

WIC provides:

- Nutrition education

- Supplemental foods

- Breastfeeding promotion and support

- Referrals to other social service agencies

WIC participants receive an electronic card or e-WIC card to purchase supplemental nutritious foods from WIC-approved vendors. Participants also receive nutrition education and counseling at WIC clinics and screening and referrals to other health, welfare and social service providers.

The UDMO Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal program under the USDA that reimburses participating child development homes for serving healthy meals and snacks to children in care settings.
