Special Olympics MA is offering league play (including playoffs), two player development tournaments and a state tournament for the 2026 season. Teams must participate in league play for the opportunity to advance on to the state tournament (see advancement policy).
Registration Deadlines
Team intents due Friday, October 31st
Team rosters due Wednesday, January 7th
Final team rosters due Saturday, March 7th
Coaches Meetings
In preparation for the 2026 season, Special Olympics MA will be hosting two coaches meetings via Zoom for the upcoming season. At least one representative from each team should attend one of the meetings listed below:
Thursday, December 18th at 7:00pm
Monday, January 5th at 7:00pm
Each division will have a regular season schedule followed by playoffs on their final scheduled date. For the 2026 season, the majority of teams will be placed in one large group at their assigned venue to so they can play a variety of different teams. Teams will then be placed in smaller divsions for the playoffs based on regular season standings and feedback. Gold medal winners for each division automatically advance to a State Tournament (unified & traditional 16+). Any remaining slots for the state tournament will go to silver medal winners or to a random draw according to Article One of the Special Olympics sports rules.

Advancement and Quota
The state tournament is for all Traditional and Unified team ages 16+ that participated in league play through out the season
To qualify for the State Tournament Teams must:
Attend all scheduled league games
Players must play in and participate in majority of teams scheduled league games. No adding players after playoffs start.
Special Olympics MA has reserved 11 courts. Final quota will be 66 teams and will be determined based on the teams that have automatically qualified and how Special Olympics MA can best create competitive divisions
