Special Olympics MA is offering both 10 pin and candlepin bowling competitions for the 2027 season. Traditional and unified events will be offered for 10 pin bowling, while candlepin will be traditional only. Bowlers who are competing in 10 pin bowling must attend a regional event in order to have the opportunity to advance on to the state competition.
Advancement Policy for Traditional 10 Pin Bowlers
Individuals that win a gold medal will automatically advance to next level. Remaining slots will be filled following guidelines set forth in the Special Olympics sport rules article one. All remaining slots will then be given to silver medal winners. If space is still available, bronze medalists will advance. For any remaining slots, teams will be given quota to fill.
2027 Registration Deadlines:
10 Pin Regional Qualifiers: due 3 weeks prior to scheduled tournament date
10 Pin States: Unified due Wednesday, February 24th /Traditional due Wednesday, March 3rd
Candlepin: due 3 weeks prior to scheduled tournament date
