College Representative Visits
Admission Representatives from various schools visit the counseling department at various times throughout the day. These visits offer students an opportunity to learn more about the school, ask questions, receive educational materials, and learn about the application process.

Select Dakota: website designed to provide prospective students (recent high school graduates, transfers, or adult learners) and parents with information that can be used to make informed decisions about the best place to attend.

Common Application: the Common App is an undergraduate college admission application that applicants may use to apply to any of more than 800 member colleges and universities.

Post-Secondary Exploration
National Center for Education Statistics- free tool to help students compare colleges and universities based on a verity of criteria including location, majors, and costs.
Big Future (College Board)- website designed to easily explore different colleges and universities by getting "matched" to them based on a short quiz (would be best to create a college board account to save results).
College Tour- Webpage and program designed to aid students in understanding how to pick a major and explore different colleges and universities based a student's interests and what they are looking for in a program. Offers a variety of search mediums including videos and interactive programs on the site. Students can watch whole campus tours on the site for some colleges and universities.
SDMyLife- Website provided through the school to explore different post-secondary schools and can create lists and favorites. Important dates and and admission requirements are included for the different colleges and universities; as well as general statistics of majors and graduation rates.
CSS Profile
An online application for non-federal student financial aid. Used by nearly 400 colleges, universities, professional schools, and scholarship programs to award more than $9 billion in grants.
Check the College Board’s website for a list of schools and institutions that require the CSS Profile application.
Available on October 1 each year.
