About us
Spearfish High School counselors are certified professional educators who assist students, teachers, parents, and administrators. They provide assistance to students through five primary interventions: individual counseling, large group guidance, consultation, collaboration, and coordination. The Spearfish High School Counseling Team utilize the American School Counselor Associations (ASCA) National Standards for School Counseling as a framework and guideline of delivering and implementing targeted counseling interventions. These standards focus on the developmental needs of all students and look at the student as a complete individual in three major areas: academic development, career development, and personal/social development.
