Mean Girls brings Tina Fey’s sharp-witted comedy to the stage in a high-energy musical that’s as hilarious as it is relatable. Based on the hit film, the show follows Cady Heron as she navigates the wilds of high school after growing up on the African savanna. Quickly swept into the drama of cliques, gossip, and the infamous Plastics, Cady must decide who she wants to be—and how far she’s willing to go to fit in. With an upbeat pop score by Jeff Richmond and Nell Benjamin, Mean Girls combines humor, heart, and a healthy dose of satire to capture the highs and lows of teenage life.
This production gives students the chance to dive into big ensemble numbers, clever comedy, and characters that feel larger-than-life yet strikingly familiar. The story is a funhouse mirror of high school culture, exaggerating its pitfalls and absurdities while ultimately pointing toward friendship, authenticity, and resilience. With its catchy songs, bold choreography, and laugh-out-loud moments, Mean Girls promises a production that is equal parts entertaining and thought-provoking—an unforgettable chance for students to bring a contemporary cult classic to life on stage.
