Project Description

Found Fashion invites students to reimagine what clothing and style can be when creativity replaces convention. Beginning with a small budget for a Goodwill run and digging into their own closets, basements, and even discarded materials, students will collect unexpected items to transform into bold, one-of-a-kind fashion statements. The project emphasizes resourcefulness, sustainability, and the joy of turning “what’s around us” into wearable art.

Over three weeks, students will collaborate to design, construct, and style their creations, exploring the intersections of fashion, performance, and visual art. The experience culminates in a runway show at Springboard for the Arts in Saint Paul, where students will present their found fashion looks in a professional setting. Equal parts experiment, spectacle, and celebration, this project is all about rethinking fashion as a playful and provocative form of self-expression.
