Background

Tom Malinowski (57) is an incumbent representative for the 7th district of New Jersey. He grew up in Poland until he was 6 years old when he and his mother moved to New Jersey. He grew up in Central Jersey and went to St. Anthony's College, Oxford and the University of California Berkeley. He first served as a representative in 2019 and before that was the Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor under the Obama Administration. He has also been a Senior Director on the National Security Council and the Washington Director for the Civil Rights Watch.
