In this year’s Learning Journey at Singapore Polytechnic, our trainers at Edukinect would like to present a two hour workshop to take you on a Digital Transformation Journey where we will get the Faculty and Staff to work out the answers about the technology that is used at SP. How would you rate the success of technology adoption on campus and how (will it) change the future of learning that is heavily promoted these days.
This journey will help you to learn about what is available now within your four walls and encourage discussion as to what can be changed or used differently in your next class or the next intake.
It brings together tools for teaching, creativity, collaboration. What can we do with Power Apps? How can we make use of Big Data or Power Analytics that everyone is talking about, to get meaningful data to support students’ learning or influence outcomes? Can we integrate these tools not just in teaching but extend their use further into other aspects, such as in School Administration, influencing student intake and (possibly) defining policies in the Polytechnic. In essence, how will we push technology and use it to foster greater collaboration and increased productivity in SP?

As educators, have you consider incorporating the science of learning in your pedagogical practice?
Do you constantly advocate “work harder!” to your students?
In this session, we will share key lessons from our courses “Learning to learn better”. The course has benefited more than 500 undergraduates and adult CET learners since August 2017, including 80 students from France. Many attested the course as a life-changing experience about knowing the meaning of learning.
We will explore evidence-based strategies that worked for our learners. Most often, the best learning practices are counter-intuitive. Proven strategies such as interleaving, desirable difficulties and spaced practice will be discussed. At the end of the class observation, we will discuss via a group reflection exercise how to support your learners to maximize their potential.
For this learning journey workshop, participants should be prepared to share how they have incorporated learning strategies in their current teaching portfolio.
