Buod ng Aming Proyekto

Founded by Dr. Fe Del Mundo, the Bulilit and Teen Health Workers Program aims to bring awareness to the Filipino youth on health literacy. They step forward to achieve this goal through the assistance of young health ambassadors, in which they receive training facilitated by the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) in primary healthcare, life skills, disease prevention, and community health, focusing on young Filipinos to combat issues like early pregnancy and STIs. They empower youth to take an active role in health education, encourage peer-to-peer learning, and foster leadership skills while addressing relevant health issues in their community. With this, volunteers develop the minds of others like them with overall knowledge on the human body, and how they can care for themselves.

The Bulilit and Teen Health Workers Program aims to promote their organization through different activities such as health seminars, workshops, community outreach programs, and peer education initiatives. These activities help raise awareness on important health issues, encourage youth participation, and strengthen their role as advocates for a healthier community.

Paglalawaran sa Komunidad

The word “Muntinlupa” was derived from “muntíng lupà,” which directly translates to “little land.” Now, it is considered a city located among the southernmost of Metro Manila, in the National Capital Region (NCR). It is bordered on the north by the cities of Taguig and Paranaque, and by the province of Las Pinas to the west. Moreover, Muntinlupa holds two districts and nine barangays. These include Alabang, Ayala Alabang, Bayanan, Buli, Cupang, Poblacion, Putatan, Sucat, and Tunasan.

Around the city contains areas that house major malls, offices, and marketplaces, while also being home to plenty of subdivisions and communities, like Ayala Alabang Village. Hence, the city’s residential development provides jobs and supports the economy. Good governance and cleanliness are also a staple for Muntinlupa, given the fact that the city hosts environmental programs and strict ordinances. Being considered a highly developed city with plenty of large green patches, citizens show that the city rigorously respects their mission, which aims to promote sustainable development, good governance, and quality public services. Therefore, Muntinlupa achieved the name “Emerald City.”

Meanwhile, the local government is in charge of things like health, welfare, infrastructure, community service, and public administration. The city planning and development office is also very important for planning, creating programs, doing research, and evaluating. Muntinlupa City has encountered significant changes throughout the years, as well. With this, led by Mayor Ruffy Biazon and city officials, they implemented programs under the “7K Agenda.” The 7K Agenda is the development program of the Muntinlupa City Government, serving as a guide for improving the quality of life for its residents. They are also actively involved in several services and development projects, which make local laws, enforce rules, and give citizens basic services, which also helps the economy grow by helping businesses and creating jobs.

Our Computer and Internet Access

Our school has had internet access for the past 22 years, which allowed us to utilize facilities such as the school library and computer laboratory when working on our project. In addition to the technology and resources provided by the school, team members also used their personal devices and home internet connections to continue working outside of school hours.

To ensure efficiency, the team was organized into two groups: the designing team and the writing team. However, members were not restricted to their assigned roles and were able to contribute to other tasks when needed. For communication during non-school hours, we used online platforms such as Google Spaces. Meanwhile, official meetings were conducted face-to-face at school. To manage our files and collaborate effectively, we created shared folders and documents through Google Drive. This allowed team members to access information, edit documents, and work together on different segments of the project in real time.

Mga Problema kailangan namin Lampasan

One of the biggest challenges we faced during this project was managing our time. Our team was made up of students from different grade levels, each with their own academic schedules, school responsibilities, and activities both inside and outside the campus. Because of this, finding a time when everyone could meet and work together was not always easy. There were moments when coordinating meetings, gathering materials, and developing the website felt difficult because our available time rarely matched.

However, this challenge did not stop us. Instead, it encouraged us to become more resourceful and supportive of one another. We began to organize our tasks based on each member’s availability and strengths. Some members focused on researching and collecting information about the Muntinlupa Bulilit and Teen Healthworkers program, while others worked on writing, editing, and designing the website. As the project moved forward, what first seemed like an obstacle became an opportunity to grow as a team. Step by step, we learned how small contributions from each member could come together to create something meaningful. Through patience, cooperation, and determination, we continued to move forward.

In the end, the experience strengthened our teamwork and reminded us of the true value of collaboration. Our journey reflects the spirit of the competition’s theme: to contribute and unite. By sharing our ideas, skills, and time, we were able to work as one team and successfully present the story and impact of the Muntinlupa Bulilit and Teen Healthworkers.

Our Project Sound Bite

Participating in the International Schools CyberFair helped us realize that, as students, we can do more than just learn inside the classroom. We can also share stories that inspire and inform others. Through this project, we were able to showcase the meaningful work of the Muntinlupa Bulilit and Teen Healthworkers and understand how young people like us can contribute to promoting health and service in our community. Working together to research, write, and build the website taught us the value of teamwork, responsibility, and creativity. Most importantly, this experience showed us that when students contribute their ideas and unite their efforts, we can create something meaningful that represents our school and community with pride.
