SS Middle School Agriculture

All seventh grade students will be participating in Agriculture class this year!

This full year course provides middle school students with the opportunity to learn about the agricultural industry. Students will learn about various parts of the agricultural industry through different activities and lessons that will give them an introductory understanding of animals, plants, leadership in the industry, stewardship of the land, and agricultural mechanics. Students will be introduced to FFA concepts and encouraged to participate in our newly chartered FFA chapter. It is my hope that this course will serve as a starting point for many of our students in their agricultural education career here at South Seneca.

Noteworthy activities that seventh grade has or will participate in during the year: NY Ag in the Classroom Mac & Cheese Contest, NY Ag in the Classroom and NY Beef Council Top Cut Beef Experience, field trip to Bergen Dairy in Odessa, March Mammal Madness, Hatching Chicks, interacting with the small animals in our classroom, maple syrup production, and much more!
