Small Animals

The Small Animal Management class is a half year course for high school students. In this course, students will learn how to take care of a variety of animal species and will have weekly animal chore tasks to care for our classroom pets.  Students will also learn more in depth about each of the animal species that we have in our classroom.  Basic and advanced care techniques will be covered, including pros and cons of different beddings, types of foods that are appropriate, trimming toenails, cleaning ears and checking for mites, and care needs of mammals versus reptiles.

Notable activities in this class: caring for a variety of small animals, rabbit stations (breeds, parts of rabbits, tattooing practices), Dogless Dog Show project, etc.
