Monty Visits Doze

"Patience With Persistence." Those were the words that stuck with us that made us choose Monty as a guest speaker for our employees. On January 28th, Doze had a special visit from Carter Montgomery, an alumni from Mattituck High School, a school very close to Southold, who graduated in 2017. Thanks to our Event Planner, Angela Kollen, we were able to set up a virtual meeting with Carter to learn more about his experiences. While in high school, Carter had a substantial interest in TV production. But as he moved further into high school, he didn’t just want to do just TV production. After graduating, he attended Florida State University and he decided to go undeclared for a major. In his sophomore year of college he changed his major to marketing as he"felt that the first major didn’t fit with me as well as I thought it would.” Carter then decided to make sure he did as many internships with people to get the most experience. One of his favorite internships was with Damon John from Shark Tank where he managed Damon's social media accounts. Currently, Carter is a media planner. In his job he focuses on where to put targeted ads, when to use them, and what ads to use. Before our meeting with him ended, he said to “think what's next, but live in the moment.”
