Ms. Cavanaugh was a 1984 graduate from Southington High. She now works in the Special Educational department. She has been a major asset to our staff and community at Southington. She has seen a large number of students come through our community and it has been amazing to have her on our staff. She also runs our Unified Theater Club and show which gives opportunities for everyone to just be themselves. Thank you for being in our community for as long as you have!

Tony, a security guard at the high school, is more than just a familiar face. He is a Southington High School 1987 graduate. Having been a student here himself, Tony carries with him the discipline and values his teachers instilled during his time at the school. Those same rules guide him every day as he helps maintain order and safety. He often says that the school had such a large impact on his life that it inspired him to come back in 2018 and make it his career, giving back to the place that shaped who he is today.

Officer Valentine has been a beloved staff member at the school for years, known and loved by everyone. He attended and graduated from SHS in 1991. Inspired by Mr. Klopp, a teacher who played a significant role during his time here, Officer Valentine gives credit to him for shaping his values. The influence of Mr. Klopp and the staff in general is what brought him back to work at the school in 2019, dedicating himself to protecting the school he cares so much about. After many years of service, Officer Valentine is now preparing to retire at the end of this school year, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, respect, and commitment.

Mrs. Kopcza was a student at SHS, graduated in 1984, and joined the staff as a career in 1997. She has been secretary of principle through 6 principles and has seen SHS staff history take its course. Mrs. Kopcza being a student and graduate of SHS and then coming to work here has truly shown her commitment to the school. She takes pride in our staff and mentions how they have left an impact on her personally. She believes that even the strictest of teachers can have the greatest long term impacts.

With over two decades of unwavering dedication, she has become a cornerstone of the school community. Known for her warmth, creativity, and tireless support of her students, Mrs. Ferrett continues to shape young minds with the same energy and care she had on her very first day.
