1 Caregiver Parent and 1 child with autism and 1 parent with another neurotypical child
Family is shifting to California, US, in end January 2023, so the circle will be temporarily closed until family moves back.
3 volunteers, one of whom, Hong Kai, runs Bilberries Blue Lighthouse at Spectra Secondary School.
Circle meetings are online. We meet on the 1st Monday evening of every month from 7pm to 8.30pm.
Circle is about providing 22-year old autistic child with social interaction e.g. befriending him for the long term.
Background
Deborah and Peter are parents of an autistic son aged 22. For more than 10 years, they have homeschooled their son, Sean. They find it tiring to homeschool Sean. They also find it difficult to find activities that could engage Sean. Most of the programs are never long-term. Sean has a flair for Art. He has created numerous fascinating works of art and paintings. The couple is looking for volunteers to engage Sean in meaningful activities who have the potential to become a friend to Sean. The family lives at Tan Kah Kee. The family has decided to move to California by end January 2023
