1 Caregiver Neurotypical Parent, 1 parent with autism and 1 child with autism
3 volunteers of which one is a para-counsellor.
Circle meetings are online. We meet on 2nd Friday evenings of the month from 8.30 pm to 10 pm.
This Circle is about providing a safe non-judgemental space for Nina to process her emotions.
Lately, Nina has been very busy and unable to attend our circle meetings regularly.
Background
Nina’s second son, Alexander, 6 years old, and husband, Joseph, are autistic and high functioning. Nina is a driven woman who has multiple talents. She used to teach applied linguistics, communication skills, writing and, critical thinking at a university. She is currently studying digital communication/marketing in a business school. Nina is a natural empath. She is highly sensitive to people’s feelings and emotions. Nina needs more support to parent her son with her special needs husband. She would like the circle to help her nurture her emotional resilience and vitality. They live near Central-North of Singapore. One of the circle volunteers have gone as far as having a one to one session of mindfulness practise with Nina at fort canning park. Nina found that session extremely useful and fulfilling for her psychological and spiritual needs. Due to the immense stresses of caregiving, studying and being a wife, she yearns for time for self-care and a safe space to be listened to without judgement.
1. How could the circle allow Caregiver to feel safe to share without any filter, with no judgement from circle members?
2. How could the circle help Caregiver to nurture her resilience and emotional bank account?
3. How could the circle help Caregiver to feel more centered, grounded and at ease with her feelings and emotions as she navigates the challenges of caregiving, work and studies?
